Sunday Table

I can't believe how quickly December is flying.

Here is one of our recent Sunday tables.
This was a fun table to pull together -- shopping my closets.

Traditional Christmas red and green -- squares felt place mats, dishes and bowls.

Glittered pine cones in red and green.
{I was so excited to find this 'car/tree' salt shaker set
at our favorite grocery store -- so cute.}

 Holly and Flower (Ciroa).

The stemware was my favorite after-after Christmas sale purchase last year.
 $1 each!
{Their regular price was a little more than $10.00 a piece.}

Specifically to the 275th Tablescape Thursday.

Enjoy your weekend!

More Christmas in Our Kitchen

I love Christmas dishes!
{Possibly an obsession I can pin on my mother?}
I would have to say these are some of my favorites!
I love that they are uneven circles and more artsy than most of my dishes.
I love that they are made in Italy and look as if they should hold mounds of
pasta and delicious 'minestra maritata'
I love that they have three shades of green on them.

 I've posted about this sleigh before.
All of our holiday cards find their way to the sleigh.
We read them, share beautiful memories about our connections to
each family, and we pray for the people that send them.
We are blessed to have amazing people in our lives.

Napkins from BB&B
Dishware & place mats from TJ MAXX

Christmas in Our Kitchen 2013

Our first Sunday table f or the month of December.

Chair bows are 'junque' bows made from old tissue,
wrapping paper, ribbon and vintage sewing patterns.

In our family we have a little tradition in December called 'red envelopes'.
Each night we find a fun holiday prep written inside our red envelope.
Tonight we begin our advent calendars!

Damask October Table 2013

Simple table for Sunday.
Damask plates from Pottery Barn several years ago --
bought on clearance.
Fun Halloween plates with damask elements --
I have 6 -- hoping to find two more at some point.
Until then the matching damask plates work fine when we are feeding 8.

Spider web orange/black fabric by Moda.

The little black spiders are magnets.
We found them earlier this year.
Placemats are from Hobby Lobby,
originally used for this orange birthday table.

Sunday Table 12

This table started off with only yellows and blues.
Originally, I had just the blue delphinium
and the small yellow Gerber daisies in the white pitcher.

{When we lived in our California base housing,
I decorated the main living area in yellow and blue.}
Yellow and blue will always make me think of living in California.
Yellow and blue will always make me think of the start of summer.

Recently when I was walking through Trader Joe's,
I saw the bright bold peonies, and decided to bring some home.
I added them to our yellow and blue table.

I also pulled out my metal 'granny tray'... not exactly sure why I call it that.
Metal trays -- and metal TV trays -- and aluminum tumbler cups for that matter
make me think of my paternal grandparents.

I'm not sure if I preferred the table in just yellow and blue,
or if I like the pop of color.
Either way, cheers to summer and pretty colors.

This table marks a dozen Sunday tables --
plus another half dozen or so holiday tables that I've blogged about.

Easter 2013

Easter Table

We are not hosting Easter this year,
but I still set an Easter/Spring inspired table.

These eggs are my favorite -- I LOVE the colors, plus they have a little glitter/sparkle.
I found them at a new Target that was just opening when we lived in Mississippi.

 The bark placemats, the nests, and the moss chargers were a fun find from my favorite
garden store Courtney Farms.
Courtney Farms is in Ocean Springs, MS. on Bienville Blvd.
Always a great stop for inspiration and treasures!
Miss that place...

Both the dinner plates and the salad plates
are from Tuesday Morning {a year or two back}.

Happy Easter!
Happy Spring!

Mardi Gras 2013

Mardi Gras Dinner 2013
 With two of the six kiddos gone, we are having
a pretty quiet week.  So we decided to have a little fun & do a
fancy Mardi Gras dinner!

We pulled out the fleur-de-lis decor --
our stash of beads, and all of our purple, green & gold.
We set a festive Mardi Gras table.

The purple/white ceramic plates were $2.00 each at a local decor store.
{The purple and gold chargers I found at Hobby Lobby last spring.
I think they carry them every spring.}

One of my kiddos requested that our meal be like
eating at Bayview Gourmet in Ocean Springs.
We had chicken sandwiches, fresh veggies, and sweet potato fries.
{Not as yummy as Bayview Gourmet, but not bad!}
