Sweetheart Family Dinner 2013

Sweetheart Family Dinner 2013
 I have this fun aqua and red quilt covered in hears and dots.
I thought it would make a cute tablecloth for our 'sweetheart family dinner'.
 Aqua and red dot plates
Felt place mats
Heart and swirl napkins

glitter heart on the chairs
our mailbags & a little mailbox

Mardi Gras 2013

Mardi Gras Dinner 2013
 With two of the six kiddos gone, we are having
a pretty quiet week.  So we decided to have a little fun & do a
fancy Mardi Gras dinner!

We pulled out the fleur-de-lis decor --
our stash of beads, and all of our purple, green & gold.
We set a festive Mardi Gras table.

The purple/white ceramic plates were $2.00 each at a local decor store.
{The purple and gold chargers I found at Hobby Lobby last spring.
I think they carry them every spring.}

One of my kiddos requested that our meal be like
eating at Bayview Gourmet in Ocean Springs.
We had chicken sandwiches, fresh veggies, and sweet potato fries.
{Not as yummy as Bayview Gourmet, but not bad!}

Sunday Table 11

Yesterday when I was setting up our table it was snowing,
and the light was terrible.  You'll see that in the pictures at
the bottom of this post.  But this morning is gorgeous,
so I'm adding a few new pictures.

Here are a few pictures this morning.

Cork chargers, gold place mats, and red for Chinese New Year!

A little morning collage.
{These are the photos from last night!}

Happy Chinese New Year!
 Here is a look at preps
for our family's celebration this year.
You can see our 2012 celebration here.

2013 is the year of the snake.
We used this spiral snake template to make our snakes.
{thank you firstpalette.com}

My kiddos had fun getting
the snakes colored and cut out for our festivities.

There are 7 of us for dinner tonight.
{Sadly, our oldest child will be missed.}

We hung three 'good luck' lanterns {local party store}
to add a little more red to our dinner.

I was so excited to find these two platters at Tuesday Morning
not too long ago.
The Chinese take-out theme will be perfect for Chinese New Year.

The centerpiece -- a platter on a cake stand -- filled with fortune cookies.
An appetizer tray [built-on fortune cookie toothpick holder]
and some red money envelopes are also part of the centerpiece.

There is also a red money envelope/snake on each plate.
{No money in our envelopes, just fun wishes for the new year.}

Earlier this week I mentioned last year's celebration here.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Sunday Table 10

Lennox in January instead of December.
I found some cork chargers on clearance at Pier One several months ago,
and decided to use them with these dishes.
I think it made a nice combination -- reds and browns.

Sunday Table 9

I didn't post any tables in January, but I did take a few
photos, so I'll share them now.

I only set two Sunday tables in January.

The first one with this Chickadee pattern
by Global Design Connections (Kate Williams).

I've found mine at Marshall's.
I'm still looking for two dinner plates,
and I'd like to find a serving piece or two.

black place mats -- local grocery store
chargers -- Hobby Lobby

gray flatware & coral red napkins -- Tuesday Morning
