Summer Yellow & Lemons

It feels like everyone is posting fall/autumn themed posts.
Not exactly sure I feel about that --
I love AUTUMN -- in fact it is my favorite season -- but I'm still loving on summer over here.
I want to live in the season at hand.
(Even if cooler days and color-changing leaves sound delightful.)
All too soon, we will be wishing for SPRING again...and then SUMMER.

Summer yellows and lemons.

The cloth/napkins -- an Amazon purchase.
Plates -- Pier One this year.
Wooden chargers -- Pier One years ago.
Lemon glasses -- TJMaxx a few years back.

Sliced lemon. Fun little detail on the dinner plate.

The flatware is Wallace -- Napoleon Bee.
I used it for our Back-to-School dinner here.

I really love setting pretty tables.
(It is also fun to look back over my photos
and see some of the tables I've set over the years.)

I always felt like Sunday dinners were special growing up.
I want my kiddos to someday feel that way too.

Cheers to Sunday dinners around the table!

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day.
This is a little flashback to 2016.

Today we are having a cookout with extended family.
I'm not hosting, so no new tablescape here.

Have a lovely day celebrating loved ones, service men and women, and
creating traditions with the people you love most.

Gardening Centerpiece

This sweet little vintage seed box makes a fun centerpiece.
(Thinking of using it for a Mother's Day table.)

Peter Rabbit

So excited to add these Peter Rabbit plates to our spring table settings!

I bought enough for our table, and then an extra to put out in the garden shed.
(Early morning light before the sun in up.)

Not dish/table related, but this is my garden shed.
(You'll hear me called it Hummingbird Cottage.)

Happy Easter weekend.

Favorites for Spring!

Spring themed dishes (and Christmas themed dishes) are my favorites.
These are some that I've added to my collection over the past few years.

After holiday sales are the best, and companies usually care dinnerware
for more than one season. That makes it nice for adding a few more pieces each year.

Simple Autumn Table

Base for each table setting was this fun little pumpkin charger from Pier 1 (2018).

The place card is a combination of vintage silver, pearl acorns, and tags.

Simple table.

Love fresh flowers in the fall -- especially Delilahs.

Back-To-School Theme & Dinner

Our outdoor back-to-school dinner 2018.

We loved the 'Won't You Be My Neighbor' movie.
Mr. Rogers inspired our back-to-school theme this year.

Be Kind.

Sunflowers and lots of little bee items -- 'bee' kind.

Items used:
Pier One --  gingham napkins (2018)  and sunflower placemats (several years ago)
Bee items - local neighborhood grocery store and items collected over the years.
Neiman Marcus - Wallace Napoleon Bee
TJ Maxx - Cynthia Rowley plates
Tuesday Morning - glassware
Flowers - backyard & local flower market

Each child picks a word for the school year.
We had chicken, rice & veggies.
Dessert was various kinds of ice cream -- specifically honeycomb.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July!
Not table related, but by window boxes are suffering in this heat!
I'm trying sooooo hard to keep my flowers blooming.
(It isn't an easy task!)

Our community has a fun week of celebrating leading up to the 4th.
Hot air balloons for 2-3 days -- we love going out and seeing the sky filled with them.

This was our dinner table...slightly similar to the brunch table.

Happy 4th of July
