Plaid Plates

It is cold out today, and I'm working on our Sunday table.
Last year when I bought these animal salad plates from West Elm,
I thought they would be so great paired with plaid plates.
But I didn't have a great plaid plate, so I've been looking all year.

So excited when I recently found these plaid plates at Pottery Barn!
I think they'll be fun at Christmas and during autumn and winter --
And I had coupons {from college dorm room} which made them on sale!
{Hooray for sales!}

Here are a few of the 8 different animals in stylish winter wear.
A lynx {or is it a bobcat} --

A moose -- with toggle buttons.

An owl, in blue plaid flannel AND a bowtie.

And a puffin -- love the puffin.

Summer Dining

Summer is in full swing at our house.
Loving a little nautical table for our Sunday dinner.

Simple summer dining.

The centerpiece is made up of things pulled from our guest bedroom/bath.
The ocean really does fix everything!

Tablescape -
Pier One - glassware, blue glass chargers, galvanized chargers, and napkins
Amazon - silverware {sailboats}
 TJMaxx --  red placemats and gull
Hobby Lobby -- white tray
Mom-N-Pop Shoppe - salt and pepper shakers
Centerpiece - treasures and shells collected over the years from our ocean visits

Every year we have a 'back-to-school' dinner as we prepare to head back to school.
A few years ago we had a nautical themed dinner.
{You may notice a few items are being used into our current table.}
You can read more about it here.

Sand & Sea Table

A simple Sunday table -- using aqua and blue.
{Reminds me of hunting for pretty shades of sea glass when we lived on the coast.}

Tablescape --

TJMaxx -- striped napkins, aqua placemats, stemware, white plates & fish bowls
Pier One -- galvanized chargers & blue glass chargers
Amazon -- sailboat flatware

I've mentioned this before,
but I often like to assemble my centerpieces on trays --
for easy set-up and removal.

Red.White.Blue

Setting our first red.white.blue table for this weekend.

I like to keep a centerpiece on our kitchen island.
Then, when it is time to set the table, it is so easy to pull everything together.

Initials for each person in our family...

Love these chargers from Pier One.

Early morning sunshine coming in the window...

Chargers and gingham napkins - Pier One
Patriotic hat and fireworks  - Pier One {2-3 years ago?}
Initials - Michael's Craft Store {last year}
Glasses and wagon - Tuesday Morning
Flatware - Amazon
Tray - Hobby Lobby
Ampersand - TJMaxx

Spring Garden Table

This is our Sunday table set for tomorrow.
Last year I bought some pastel dishes from Williams Sonoma.
We usually set our table for 8, so I picked up 2 of each of the four
colors they were offering -- green, lavender, blue and pink.
As an afterthought, I bought 2 extra plates in each color.
I'm so glad I did because now I can mix-and-match
our table for eight with any combination of the four colors.

This week I'm using pink and blue.
Last week I used all four colors -- you can see the table here.

Golden egg centerpiece and jellybeans around the candles.
The grass runner was an after-easter purchase.
I also love this grass runner in this post that I found at Pier One.

I think these spring garden salad plates will be great to use all month.
I love the combination of animals and flowers.

The golden egg centerpiece makes me think of some of our favorite Spring traditions --
and most importantly

Waiting on Spring

We are excited for SPRING at our house.
The first day of SPRING is just 34 days away,
and we can't wait!

Fun find -- Oversized carrots placed over the stove.
White bunnies are always a favorite.

Favorite SPRING dishes are coming out this week!

These Pip Studio dishes are some of my favorites for SPRING and Mother's Day.

When it comes to dishes, Christmas patterns are my downfall.
Spring dishes are a close second!
I love pastels, and flowers, and bunnies, and SPRING!

These are some of our favorites from the past few years.
{I always look for them on sale, and tend to buy the smaller salad plates
to mix-and-match with what I already have.}

Left {bottom} to right {top}:
Pottery Barn -- Flora salad plates {The Flora dinner plates are also beautiful.}
Williams-Sonoma -- Spring Garden salad plates {bought this year}
Williams-Sonoma -- Happy Easter glass {to my knowledge no longer available}
Pier One - Easter Bunny Faces {These are available again this year -- these sell out fast!}
Williams-Sonoma -- Damask Easter Bunny salad plates {bought last year after Easter sale}

Family Sweetheart Dinner 2016

My two littles found a heart-napkin folding tutorial
and then created them for our Family Sweetheart Dinner.
{They know my love language!}

I love the blog Between Naps on the Porch --
Susan is always using a fun rabbit/basket in her table decor.
A few weeks ago I saw that Williams-Sonoma had something similar,
and I picked it up for Easter/Spring --
We took it out today and used it for the first time at our Family Sweetheart Dinner.
Pete is so sweet to get the girls flowers for Valentine's Day.
{Their roses are in the basket.}

Happy Heart Day!

Sweetheart Eve

This was our Sweetheart Family Dinner from 2013.

Looking forward to Valentine's Day tomorrow.
{It falls on Sunday this year -- which is perfect!}
I'm trying to decide how to decorate the table,
so I pulled up a few photos from past celebrations.

{I used a favorite quilt for our tablecloth in 2013.}

Our table in 2015 -- Spanish conversation hearts
{Found especially for the 2 Spanish speakers in our home.}
